KIP - Knowledge, Innovation and Policies for Human Development

The KIP Initiative was launched by UNOPS in 2008 in order to capitalize the knowledge of various UN Agencies Programs made in the last twenty years, and currently connects various UN Agencies, including ILO, UNIFEM, UNEP, WHO and UNV.
KIP Initiative operates through Strategic Projects - designed in collaboration with National and Local Governments and with the actors interested in development - to promote and consolidate the knowledge and methodologies of territorial integrated human development, participatory and open to international opportunities.
In each of the countries concerned, the program involves the construction of components at national, regional and international levels.

In 2011 ILS LEDA signed a joint plan of action with KIP
 

IDEASS

ILS LEDA collaborates with the IDEASS Program (UNDP, UNIFEM, ILO, UNOPS) to promote a better use of innovation for human development within the framework of local economic development processes. ILS LEDA collaborates in the identification of the innovations, in its international promotion and in its transfer to the interested countries, together with the active participation of the LEDAs.

 
 

UNIVERSITAS

ILS LEDA and UNIVERSITAS cooperate in improving the quality of available training opportunities for human development, by organizing university courses, conducting research, and disseminating knowledge about concepts of and tools for Local Economic Development.
The coordinator of ILS LEDA is a member of the editorial committee of Universitas Forum, an electronic journal (www.universitasforum.org).
 

EURADA

The European Association of Development Agencies (EURADA) has a membership of about 70 regional development agencies from across the European Union. Agencies from almost all the Member States of the EU are EURADA members.

EURADA runs conferences and seminars and has an extensive publications programme. It keeps its members up to date with EU policy developments and provides briefing on critical issues such as state aid rules. It alerts members to funding and contract opportunities and helps with forming and running partnerships.

Mediterraneo Sociale

Mediterraneo Sociale s.c.a.r.l. is a limited liability Consortium Company and it pursues mutual-aid purposes.
The first aim of Mediterraneo Sociale is to develop an integrated network of interventions and services focused on the implementation of all the production-trading-services-training and social functions of associated membership at international, national and regional level.

In fact, Mediterraneo Sociale is an innovative experience of network of no-profit and profit agencies, with a remarkable ethic mission, which promotes inclusive and productive activities of social utility.
 
The active engagement of women and men of Mediterraneo Sociale is to promote and to implement Sustainable Local Communities providing a dynamic, multidisciplinary innovation network at local and global level, to strengthen linkages between Social Economy, Community Welfare and Ethical Finance.
The Sustainable Local Community is a model of participated local governance focused on: protection of the environment and biodiversity; services of Community Welfare; respect of gender differences and women empowerment; promotion of ecologically and ethologically sustainable economic activities.
This model of local governance can be reproduced at global level by adopting a glocalvision of international cooperation and cohesion.
FORMAPER

FORMAPER is the training Agency of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Craft and Agriculture.
Its institutional task is to contribute to sustainable socioeconomic development and entrepreneurship development through provision of high quality training and technical assistance to the private and public sectors.
FORMAPER’s typical assignments in Italy and abroad include formulation and delivery of multidisciplinary programmes in such fields as:

·       SMEs & Entrepreneurship development, with a focus on micro / small enterprises and female enterprises (training and support to business start-up and management, HR management, internationalization,  
·       Local sustainable development;
·       Adult learning and continuing vocational training, including links with the labour market;
·       Capacity building and economic empowerment of vulnerable categories of population;
·       Capacity building of Business Support Organisations and Public Sector bodies.
 
Since 1993 Formaper has been actively involved in international cooperation and technical assistance programmes funded by international agencies (EuropeAid, UNDP) worldwide, with a focus on the Mediterranean region, Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia. 
RES INT

The International Network of Social Economy RES-INT was created in 2013 in Italy by 14 territorial organizations working in the social economy and several associated partners. The member organizations of RES-INT are, in turn, socio economic local networks constituted as consortia of social cooperatives, community foundations, social farm networks, associations of family members. European BIC Network (EBN)

EBN is the European association of the Business Innovation Centers (BICs).
In the framework of the ART and EBN agreement, ILS LEDA collaborates with EBN for realizing stable international partnerships between BICs and LEDAs, through co-development projects, aimed at facilitating joint territorial and business development related to use of innovative technologies, environment, trade, social inclusion, etc. These projects also seek to improve LEDAs' management, administration, and technical capacities, through win-win partnerships.
 

ADR - Spanish Association of Regional Development Agencies
ADR Spanish Association of Regional Development Agencies was born with the aim of contributing to political and public planning and to activities aimed at promoting regional development; it is composed of 18 agencies and it is an operating mechanism created to support its members in sharing information and exploiting joint opportunities.
 
ILS LEDA with ADR and other members is part of the Platform for Euro-Latin American Cooperation of Development Agencies.
 
ARCO LAB

ARCO is an action research lab founded in 2008 by professors of the University of Florence and professionals of the consultancy company LAMA.

Global local forum

Created in Dakarin 2008, Global Local Forum is an international ‘laboratory of ideas’ which aims to contribute to mutual development between territories, reflect and stimulating innovative forms of cooperation, as well as re-aligning the economy to serve the people in the dialogue between territories. It gathers members from 32 countries on all the continents that look beyond their ideological convictions, their beliefs, and their own limits, to generate collaborative diagnoses on the key-role of territories as crucibles of human progress and sustainable economic development.

Fondo Umbro di Enti Locali per la Cooperazione Decentrata e lo Sviluppo Sostenibile (FELCOS Umbria)

FELCOS Umbria is a non - profit association established by Local Authorities, in cooperation with  local public, private and associative actors. FELCOS mission is to create a regional network for the promotion and practice of decentralized cooperation and sustainable human development, at national and international level.
Felcos cooperate with ILS LEDA for providing technical assistance and training to the agriculture sector in international cooperation programs.
 

UNOPS Service for International Partnerships (SIP)

SIP is the service implemented by the UNOPS Office in Geneva to promote and implement partnerships of decentralized cooperation in the framework of the ART Programs ongoing in the countries.
ILS LEDA and SIP cooperate for promoting and implementing partnerships related with for economic development, in collaboration with the LEDAs which operate in the various countries. 
 

LEGACOOP Italia

LEGACOOP Italia is an association that safeguards and represents associated cooperatives.
The fundamental goals of LEGACOOP Italia are the promotion of mutualistic cooperation, the dissemination of cooperative ideas and experience, the representation and protection of associated cooperatives and other organizations so that they may consolidate and develop;
LEGACOOP Italia works for the development and strengthening of the cooperative movement, nationally and internationally; it works at the international level in the frame of the guidelines established by the organizations and agencies of the UN system for the achievement of Millennium Development Goals and by European Union institutions. 
The understanding with UNOPS foresees that LEGACOOP will work to promote and strengthen the role of cooperatives in the development strategies of the south of the world, as an important element in policies to reduce poverty.

 

ASVIS
The Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) was established on 3rd February 2016 on the initiative of the Unipolis Foundation and the University of Rome Tor Vergata. Its aim is to increase the awareness of the Italian society, economic stakeholders and institutions about the importance of the Sustainable Development Agenda, and to mobilize them in order to pursue the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), agreed by the United Nations.
The Alliance already brings together 80 among the most important civil society institutions and networks, like:
  • Associations representing the social partners (business, trade union and third sector associations);
  • Networks of civil society associations pursuing specific Goals (health, well-being, education, employment, quality of environment, gender equality, etc.);
  • Associations of local public administrations;
  • Public and private universities and research centres, and their respective networks;
  • Associations of stakeholders working in the fields of culture and information;
  • Foundations and networks of foundations;
  • Italian organizations that are members of international associations and networks, dealing with SDGs. ...more

 

CTM - Altromercato

CTM – Altromercato Consortium is the second fair trade organization in Europe and it contributes to sustainable development by offering better economic conditions and guaranteeing the right of small producers and workers. The Consortium sell fair trade products in about 2000 shops and selling points in Italy and abroad.

Thanks to an agreement between ILSLEDA and CTM – Altromercato the LEDAs members of our network has the opportunity to increase the sales of local small producers.
ETIMOS

Etimos is a transnational co-operative consortium including over 280 organisations in Italy, Europe and in developing countries.

Etimos collects savings and invests in developing and emerging countries financing microfinance institutions and producers organisations. It provides its members with the tools useful to promote economic and social growth of local communities.
The Consortium also includes decentralised offices in Argentina, Sri Lanka and Senegal, further to a series of partnerships with the major players on the European and worldwide scene of finance, ethics and co-operation: financial institutions, multilateral banks, development agencies, consortiums, public authorities and large international NGOs.
In 2011 ILS LEDA signed an agreement with Etimos, which foresees collaboration for facilitating local economic development, through activities aimed at abating poverty, protecting the environment, eliminating social disparities, and favoring gender equity, through the creation, the promotion, the support and the reinforcement of local businesses, in order to accomplish shared territorial strategies for long term sustainable development.
